Homemade gifts in a jar are very popular, so this is a fantastic gift to kick off our list of personalized Mother’s Day Gifts, specially picked for moms that need an extra boost in the morning. Oh, and happen to love chocolate too!

Here I have used a 16oz Mason jar and for the mix I’ve used my mothers favorite hot chocolate mix bought from the store. If you want to make your own hot chocolate mix its a simple recipe of cocoa powder, powdered milk and sugar. I’ve then added chocolate chips and mini marshmallows.

Mix Ingredients:
(Use packet hot chocolate or this recipe)

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup powdered milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Topping:

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup marshmallows

You can even throw in another layer of sweet things like candy canes, or crushed-up caramel squares!

Is your mom fuelled by coffee? Make your momma a coffee mug so that with each sip, she’ll remember you!

You can get a blank coffee mug for next to nothing on Amazon and use glossy acrylic paint for colorful designs on the mug.

If you’re not into painting, use a Sharpie and decorate the mug with your mom’s favorite quotes, a poem, or even a little note from you!

We recommend things like sunscreen, a pack of Burt’s Bees lip balm, and hand sanitizer. These items are perfect for mom if she spends a lot of time outside.

Don’t forget to add in chocolate or a sweet “pick me up” for mom.

Slap a Post-it Note list on the front of the kit for a DIY feel or create and print a label quickly online with Canva. Alternatively, you can download the Mommy Survival Kit labels from classyclutter.com.

10. Personalized Wine Glass

Sometimes, a mom just needs to have a glass of wine to unwind. Decorating a wine glass is easy.

You’ll need initial stickers, vinyl electrical tape, and glass enamel paint to get started.

First, place a sticker of your mother’s first initial in the center of the wine glass. Then add two strips of electrical tape above and below the initial sticker.

Finally, paint over the initial sticker area with the glass enamel paint. Use your mom’s favorite color for a personalized touch.

Remove the sticker and the tape when the paint is dry and you’re all set!

Pair this gift with your mom’s favorite bottle of wine and join her for a relaxing Mother’s Day evening!

Clare from fitting-it-all-in.com has a great tutorial on how she personalizes her wine glasses and I’ve also included an excellent video tutorial below that I found by crystal shipley.

11. Iron-On Moon Tote Bag

A custom canvas tote bag is a gift that mom can take on all of her travels!

Simply start with a blank canvas tote bag and find a photo of the moon on Google (or download the one  from almostmakesperfect.com).

Print the moon photo onto iron-on transfer paper and use scissors to cut the image to size.

Use your iron, with the steam turned off, for a few minutes to transfer the image onto the tote bag. Once the bag and paper have cooled down, peel the transfer paper off starting at the edges.

If your mom isn’t into moons, you can use any image that she would like. Consider making a matching tote bag for yourself to show off with your mom!
