Homemade Soap For Men

This homemade soap for men is a very masculine soap recipe which leaves you feeling clean, moisturized and ready for anything. It has a wonderful rich warm scent so you wont need to use any cologne after using this soap.

Ingredients For This Homemade Soap For Men

• A handful of Bay leaves
• 8 fl oz (225ml) Sunflower oil
• 8 fl oz (225ml) Olive oil
• 7 oz (200g) Coconut oil
• 4 oz (100g) Lye (caustic soda)
• 11 fl oz (310ml) Mineral water
• 2 teaspoons (11ml) Bergamot essential oil
• 1 1/2 teaspoon (8ml) Bay essential oil
• 1 teaspoon (5ml) Patchouli essential oil
• 1/2 teaspoon (3ml) Cinnamon essential oil

Making this Soap For Men

Method

1. Make sure the room you are making the soap in is well ventilated. Oil a plastic mould and then line it with greaseproof paper.



2. If you do not have your own bay tree, you can purchase either dried or fresh bay leaves at the supermarket. Chop up a handful of bay leaves very small. Make sure you remove and discard the veins.



3. In a good size stainless steel pan melt the olive, sunflower oil and coconut oil over a low heat.



4. Put on protective eyewear, mask, apron and long rubber gloves. Pour the mineral water into a plastic bucket . Slowly, add the lye, using a plastic spatula to stir until dissolved.



5. Use two jam thermometers, one for the lye mix and one for the oil mix. Make sure you are wearing the protective clothing. When both mixtures equalise at 96 F (35.5 C) immediately pour the lye mix into the oils mixing with the spatula, stir continuously until well combined.



6. Continue to stir until it has thickened enough, when a bit of the soap is drizzled over the top it leaves a line/ trace.



7. Pour in the bergamot, bay, patchouli and cinnamon essential oils and the chopped bay leaves, sir thoroughly until they are evenly distributed.



8. Pour the mixture into the mould that you prepared before.



9. Leave it covered with cardboard, in a warm, dry place for 24 hrs in order for it to set.



10. Line a wooden board with greaseproof paper, put some protective gloves on and turn the soap out onto the board.



11. Use a carving knife to cut the soap into chunky bars.



12. Put them into a tray lined with greaseproof paper and leave for four weeks in a dark, warm, dry place.



13. Turn them occasionally.
