Homemade Mineral Powder Foundation

Homemade Makeup

This home made beauty product recipe makes a powder foundation that will give you a lovely shimmery tan look. If you prefer a matte finish to your powder, then omit the Arizona sandstone mica and you'll create a lovely matte powder.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 teaspoon titanium dioxide
  • 1/3 teaspoon boron nitride
  • 1/3 teaspoon zinc oxide
  • 1 teaspoon facial silk
  • 3 teaspoons white matte mica
  • 1/4 teaspoon chamomile matte mica
  • Red oxide
  • Cobalt blue mica
  • 1 teaspoon Arizona sandstone mica
  • Brown oxide

Method

  1. In a small pot, add the ingredients one at a time. Be sure you use a white bowl or pot so you can see the colors clearly.

  2. Using a small spatula or skewer, blend each new ingredient you add into the mixture thoroughly.

  3. The amounts of oxide color ingredients you will need are very small, so add a few grains of each of the color oxides and mix together well to see what color you've created.

  4. When you've reached a shade that suits your own skin tone, mix everything together well once more.

  5. Store your home made beauty products in an air tight container.
