Vamp up your party favours by handing out these amusing blood sucking lollies

What You Will Need

  • Lollies
  • Red cellophane or film (if you can't find red any deep bright color will work)
  • Pipe cleaner
  • Black felt
  • Googly eyes
  • White sticky labels

How To Make Them

  1. Cut out a piece of red cellophane/film you will need just enough to cover both the lollipop and stick.


  2. Use the pattern below to cut an oblong shape out of the black felt for the vampires coat. By Place the lolly on to black felt you will get a good idea of the size needed.


  3. Cut a piece of pipe cleaner about 1inch long


  4. Wrap the red film/cellophane around the lolly squeezing slightly around the neck of the lollipop.


  5. Whilst still holding the cellophane around the lolly, slip the black felt around it and then wrap the pipe cleaner around the neck of both the cellophane and felt twist at the front to secure.


  6. Bend the ends of the pipe cleaner over to produce a bow tie.


  7. Cut some fang shapes out of the white stick labels and stick them on.


  8. Finally attach the googly eyes and admire.

Spooky Chocolate Ghosts

These spooky frozen banana and chocolate ghosts make great little homemade halloween treats.

How To Make Them

  1. To make two frozen ghosts, peel the banana, remove any string bits and cut in half.


  2. Insert a lolly stick or coffee stirrer into the cut end of the banana, cover with some plastic wrap and pop it into the freezer until frozen, this usually takes 2 to 3 hours.


  3. Place a 1.5 oz piece of white chocolate into a microwave bowl and cook on high for about one minute until melted.


  4. Cover the frozen bananas pops with the melted chocolate, the easiest way to this is with a butter knife.


  5. Gently press some candies or currants into the banana pops for the eyes and mouth, or use an icing pen to draw them on then place them back into the freezer until Set and ready to eat

For slimy halloween party treats that are fit for any hungry little monsters, why not have a go at making some of these sour and sweet jellos treats.

How To Make Them

To create these slimy little homemade Halloween treats you will need to make up red and green colored jello.

  1. Start by making them up in a heatproof jug by following the instructions on the pack.


  2. Depending on which jello you use you may have to darken it slightly with a little food coloring.


  3. Allow the jello to start setting, and then transfer to individual containers.


  4. Just before the jelo has completely set add some creepy sour snakes or spiders to them, try to make them look as though they are crawling out of the jello for a really grossed out look!

How To Make Them

  1. Place the marshmallows on to a tray or plate and place in to the freezer to get really cold.


  2. Melt the white chocolate candy in a microwaveable bowl and cook on high until melted, this really won't take very long so keep an eye on it.
    Or
    Gently melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of hot water.


  3. Remove the marshmallows from the freezer and push a thin lollipop stick or coffee stirrer into each one


  4. Cover each marshmallow with the melted chocolate candy making sure your melted chocolate isn't too hot or it will melt your marshmallows. If you find the chocolate is too hot place the marshmallows back into the freezer until the chocolate has cooled as the marshmallows are much easier to work with when cold.


  5. Stand the chocolate covered marshmallows upright into a cup or jar and place them into the refrigerator to harden. Once hard draw on the eyes and mouth with an icing pen and return to the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Healthy Apple Halloween Mouths

For quick healthy halloween treats with a bit of bite why not try having a go at these apple mouths. All you need are a few apples and some slivered almonds.

How To Make Them

  • To make these healthy Halloween snacks you will need to wash, core and quarter the apples.


  • Cut a good chunky wedge out of each apple quarter and push the slivered almonds in for teeth.


  • As you know apples do have a tendency to go brown once cut, so if you are not going to be eating them straightaway, you will need to baste them with orange juice and store them in a dark and air tight container.

Muffin Cauldrons or Nasty Baskets

These halloween party treats can be made using readymade muffins, so all you need to do is decorate them. So as theres no cooking involved it makes a great little project for the kids to do on Halloween.

What You Will Need

  • Muffins (large or small it doesn't matter, but if you're thinking of making them into cauldrons use chocolate coloured muffins, for the nasty baskets any kind will do)
  • Light coloured jelly (jam) such as apricot or apple
  • Green food colouring
  • Sour snakes or creepy sweets
  • Sour wands or candy cables

  1. Depending on the size of the muffins you are using you will need on average about 1 teaspoon of jelly per muffin, so when you've worked out how much you will need add a few drops of green food colouring to it.


  2. Slice the dome top of the muffins and spread with the jelly (jam)


  3. Add the sour sweets as though they are crawling out of the jelly, then finish by pushing the candy cable in to the muffins to make the handle.

These ghostly cup cakes will defiantly be a hit on Halloween and they are so much fun to make.

What you will need:

  • Cupcakes or muffins (cupcakes are easier to frost and shape)
  • Marshmallows (you will need half for each cupcake or a whole one for a muffin)
  • Confectioners sugar
  • White frosting
  • Chocolate buttons or junior mints
  • Chocolate chips and slivered almonds

 

How to make them:

  1. Coat your marshmallows in the confectioner's sugar to stop them from sticking (half the marshmallows for cupcakes).


  2. Gently pull the paper liner slightly away from the cake and then place the whole or halved marshmallow between the liner and the cake to make the ghosts jaw line.


  3. Cover the muffin/cupcake and the marshmallow with the frosting.


  4. Add the chocolate buttons or Junior Mints for eyes, a chocolate chip for the nose, and slivered almond for the teeth.
