What We’ve Been Up To Recently
We’ve been plodding along with various how to’s over the last few months. We’ve been tackling everything from soap to home remedies, and we think you’ll like what you see. Take a look at what we’ve been up to and check out all of our new content.
Silicon Candle Molds:
So we’ve talked about candles a lot over the past year, mostly because we just love making them. One thing that I’ve always wanted to discuss in more detail was the use of silicon candle molds. In How To Use Silicon Candle Molds Like A Pro I show you how to get the best results with silicon molds, creating unique and interesting shapes and patterns for luxuriously decorative candles. They make fabulous gifts and are massivelyn popular with customers. They’re also a whole load of fun to make!
Hot Process Soap:
I can’t help but do some soap making from time to time. It’s probably nmy favourite craft, and I indulge myself as often as I can. So I wanted to get better at hot process soap, and I think I managed that over 3 different hot process soap how to’s.
The best thing about hot process is how quick the whole thing is. There’s no waiting 4 weeks for it to cure. It’s ready to go almost immediately, and when you get the hang of it it’s not all that hard to do.
I experimented with using clay, as well as using essential oils such as lavender and sweet orange. I find there’s something endearing about a hot process soap. They aren’t the prettiest, but there’s just something so cute and rustic about them. Take a look at how I got on, and maybe get inspired to try out your own!
We’ve fleshed out our home remedies section considerably over the last few months. With winter coming, we’ll all inevitably succumb to seasonal colds and flu. But why suffer when we can whip up some lovely homemade remedies to get us back on our feet as quickly as possible?
From immune boosting soup to echinacea root infused ice pops that fight noff symptoms, you’ll be sure to find something to help out when nyou’re feeling under the weather. Be sure to check out our cough and sore throat remedies as well, which could save you a lot of money on over the counter cough syrups.
Christmas is Coming!
Yup! It’s that time of year again when the Christmas lights go up and the stores are rammed full of anxious shoppers. Why don’t we just opt out of the long lines and start giving hand crafted gifts that your friends and family can enjoy?
I know I plan to as much as humanly possible. There are so many sections on our site that can give you boat loads of inspiration.
The ladies in your life will absolutely love you! In the skincare recipes section you can find everything from wrinkle creams, cleansers, toners and gorgeous oil treatments that will pamper them to the max. This time of year I love to take maybe 3 or 4 different skin care recipes and put them together into one gift basket. A sort of ‘spa day at home’ gift set, if you will. It always goes down a treat with my girlfriends!
I don’t know many people who don’t like gorgeous smelling Yankee Candles. However, they’re so expensive! So why not learn to make your own? You could make a bucket load for the price of one large store bought candle. You can also personalise them for your giftee this Christmas, infusing the wax with their favourite fragrances.
You could even go the extra mile and make gorgeous beeswax candles, scented with essential oils for that added touch of luxury! Your friends and family will love you for it. Check out the latest homemade candles.
I always find people forget about soaps as Christmas gifts. While a bar of store bought soap might come off as underwhelming, a selection of your own homemade artisan soaps are sure to get a good reaction when unwrapped.
This is another great product that you can turn into a gift basket. But be quick, as your cold process soaps will need 4 weeks to cure! Check out the latest homemade soap recipes and grab another subscriber Ebook…
