If you have ever dreamed of diamond earrings but never could afford to buy some, this tutorial is going to help you. In this DIY Nicolas Tranchant from vivalatina-shop.com is going to show you how to make diamond earrings with silver wire and rough diamond beads.
I’m sure I don’t need to explain how much cheaper than store bought these will be! Over to Nicolas…
Supplies Needed To Make DIY Diamond Earrings
Here are the tools you will need to complete the project:
- Cutting pliers
- Round nose pliers
- Flat jaws pliers (not indispensable)
The material required is this:
- Silver wire gauge 30
- Silver shepherd hook
- Silver beads
- Rough diamond beads
- Drilled rough diamond Cubes
Method
Step 1 First, cut a length of 3 inches of silver wire with the cutting pliers.
Step 2 Then use the round nose pliers to make a loop at one end of the silver wire, and twist the wire around with the flat jaws pliers.
Step 3 Mount the beads (silver and diamonds) on the silver wire, starting with a larger cubic diamond (mine is a yellow). You can then alternate diamond beads (mine are pink) and silver beads as you wish to make your own design.
Step 4 Then make a new loop at the end of the silver wire and twist the wire, and cut the excess of wire.
Step 5 Now you can join this piece with the silver shepherd hook, which hook you have to close with the help of the flat jaws pliers and round nose pliers.
Step 6 Repeat the process and you are ready to wear your new diamond earrings.
