Here’s my chocolate brownie recipe, it’s so easy to make and they taste just the way good homemade brownies should taste, soft, moist and delicious!
This recipe uses cocoa powder and it’s the same recipe that I use for my homemade gifts in a jar, so this is your chance to try them out before giving as a gift.
For something extra special you can add some chocolate chips, pecans or even some peanut butter… Yum!
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup butter that has been melted and cooled
- 2 lightly beaten eggs
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- One of the following (optional extra) 1 cup white chocolate chunks or chips, 1/2 cup chopped pecans, 1 cup peanut butter chips
Making Your Homemade Chocolate Brownies
Step 1. Line an 8 x 8 x 2 or 9 x 9 x 2 baking pan with non stick baking parchment.
Step 2. Combine the flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, and cocoa powder together in a bowl.
Step 3. In a separate bowl, mix together the eggs and melted butter.
Step 4. Add the dry ingredients to butter mixture and mix until the mixture becomes nice and smooth.
Step 5. Keep mixing until all of the lumps have been removed, then stir in the chocolate chips along with any optional extras.
Step 6.Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and level out.
Step 7. Bake for about 30-40 minutes.
Step 8. Let the brownies cool in the pan, before cutting into bars… Enjoy!
