Choosing Your Scrapbooking Supplies

If you want to take on scrapbooking as a hobby, there are some scrapbooking supplies that you will need, and a whole lot that you will want.

Basics

There is some debate on what is included in the basic supplies for creating a scrapbook. Many craft enthusiasts will say they couldn't imagine "scrapping" without this or that, and will tell you their favorite tools are necessities.

There are also thousands of designs that go on scrapbooking paper, so you can always find the right paper for your photos.

Finally, there are great adhesives out there that are specifically made for scrapping. Just be sure that all your scrapbooking supplies are acid free.

Other Tools

Scissors with fancy blades are just some of the many types of tools that you can get. Generally these tools are not a requirement, but they do make creating pages more interesting and give you the ability to take your creativity to the max.

Stamps are one popular option. Just about everyone knows how many different varieties of stamps there are, so it is easy to see how these little additions could quickly become indispensable for scrapbooking. There are also things like special hole punches that will give your page that something special.

For writing on your pages, you may want to get some special pens. Many people use gel pens or calligraphy markers to add extra flair to their notations.

Embellishments

There is really no end to the embellishments that you can get. This term can apply to a lot of different things. Stickers are one of the most familiar embellishments that people use all the time. Like many other things with scrapbooking, you can almost always find the exact thing that you need when you are checking out the sticker section.

You can also get brads that you push into your paper and bend the backs so they stay in place. These can be many colors and shapes, and are great if you just want to add some little points of interest to your page.

Keep in mind that if you have a passion for scrapbooking, you will never stop buying scrapbooking supplies. New products come out all the time, and you will forever be finding needs for new stuff and for old favorites. So just be prepared to keep buying more and more cool tools as your hobby grows.
