Mr Scarecrow

One year I made several scarecrows using old clothes and stuffing with straw and such and reusing masks saved from previous years. Living in an area that gets an abundance of trick or treaters it was fun to slip myself in with the scarecrows that I had scattered around the porch and walkway, waiting for a group of kids to come up and then scaring the heck out of them.

Fun by all including the scared kids and even their parents.

I did something similar myself a couple of years ago. I got my kids to help me make up a scarecrow then I sat it on a chair outside and placed a bowl of candy on it's lap.

When no one was looking I removed the stuffing and got inside it ready to scare anyone who tried to put their hands into the bowl of candy. Although most of our trick or treat visitors enjoyed this bit of fun on Halloween, my wife and kids still haven't forgiven me for jumping up and chasing them around the house. They had helped to make the scarecrow, but they didn't expect it, and it really did scare them!
