SBI stands for Site Build It! and it has helped us to turn our hobby into a viable online business. You probably don't even realise that almost any topic can make money with a website! SBI is a great system that allows anyone to build not just a website but a thriving online business.

 

The crazy truth
is that you don't need to be an expert to make your own website and succeed online.... Angela and I creating Savvyhomemade.com is the living, breathing proof of this.

I won't tell you that it's been easy....It hasn't...We had to work hard and it did take some time. But what I will say is this.

If you have the motivation it is definitely possible to build a website in your spare time and make it successfull enough to give up your day job...... It will take you a year or two, but it is definately doable!

A snap shot of the SBI process

Below is very brief overview of the SBI system, showing how it takes you from start to finish, through an easy to follow process that ends with you owning your own little corner of the internet. You don't need any prior web knowledge or technical skill, all you need is an understanding and a passion or interest for your subject.

 

 

All of us have something to share
Something that we are good at, and as you follow the action plan SBI helps you identify that passion or interest.

The system does this by evaluating what you know and enjoy in your life, the software then looks at what profitable subjects you could build a website around. In a nutshell it finds you a profitable subject to build a website around that receives free search engine visitors.

Site Build It! does this by finding key search phrases based around your chosen subject that are being searched for on Google and other top search engines. It then looks at how many websites focus on the phrase, and this (along with other factors) determines whether it will be profitable to create a website based on the subject.

 

 

The system follows a process
eliminating ideas that will not fit the profitability blue print, narrowing or expanding subjects until you have identified your Website Concept. The software then focuses upon your concept, identifying hundreds of profitable words and subjects to write pages for your website. These pages will be easy to write, because you either already have the knowledge of your subject or you have a passion or interest in the subject that helps you research information.

 

At this point the SBI Website Builder takes over;
You chose a template and start to write pages of interesting information focusing upon the chosen keywords. SBI turns them into search engine friendly webpage's containing all of the correct 'on page' criteria to make them rise to the top of search engines and provide you free traffic. At the same time the system is finding many profitable areas to monetise your website.

 

 

As the months go by you receive unlimited help from SBI support.
You also learn and apply a vast amount of techniques available on the SBI forum. This private forum contains the collective mass of SBI knowledge and information, it is home to many extemely sucessfull online entrepreneurs that have tried, tested and helped to evolve the SBI process over many years.

 

As you move forward your website grows in reputation
And creates a snowball affect Gathering pace, increasing traffic and revenue each month, and you are well on your way.

 

Please understand that this is just a very condensed snap shot of SBI. The process contains so much more, but there's no need to give you information overload right now.

For sure you can find many places online that allow you to build a website or blog, but none of them focus on what counts....You want to build a business, you don't want to simply pop up a website and hope that it's a big hit.......Just believe me when I say that anyone can do this, our story below proves this.....

Today it's the Seventh of October 2009

So during the 2008 Holiday we had researched SBI. The whole SBI process was streamlined, with a clear step by step path to follow!

I was reading several amazing Case Studies from other, ordinary people that had tried SBI and succeeded!

I watched a very interesting Video Tour that showed how a website should be created and it all made total sense. I bought the SBI package on the 29th December 2008.

 

I was determined to suceed in this
And I vowed to follow the SBI Action Guide to the letter. So with the added security of a 30 day money back guarantee backing us up, we started this very site (whilst both holding down full time jobs Angela and I got to work in our spare time).

Using SBI's Niche Finding and Keyword Brainstorming Tools we took more than a month to define a site concept based around something that we enjoy and something that ticked all of the SBI boxes.

We did push the envelope a little on the broadness of our concept (for some reason I always have to push it or do it a little different!). The SBI Action Guide would probably prefer our concept to be a little tighter. Choosing 'Homemade' as our main site concept keyword was taking a bit of a risk and giving ourselves more work, but we decided it was OK as we could share the load.......

 

And savvyhomemade.com was launched early in February 2009.....

 

We have now spent 9 months of our spare time using the SBI concept to build Savvy's content and internet presence as hard as we can.

In May we implemented Google Add Sense to earn a little revenue, but didn't push it. We didn't seriously start monetising the site until we got above 200 visitors per day in July and since then our traffic and income has steadily grown almost weekly.

 

Traffic is now increasing by more than 50% each month
And has just passed 800 visitors per day. That puts us in the top 1% of trafficked websites on the Net, but we feel it is only the tip of our traffic iceberg.

 

 

Revenue on the site comes from
Google Pay Per Click Advertising and commissions from sales at EBay and Amazon. Basically Savvy gets lots of free search engine traffic and we get paid to send some of those visitors to advertisers. Don't worry, SBI covers all of this in the Action Guide.

 

Hopefully we will hit our 2500 visitors per day and then we should be earning enough to be giving up the day jobs!

Update - Today it's the Thirteenth of October 2010

Hi there, heres a quick update one year later!

Angela and I are still working hard on the site and we are indeed getting closer to giving up that day job! Traffic on the site has more than doubled this year and revenue has grown to the point that we will be selling our coffee franchise in the New Year.

We have achieved a top 4 ranking on the Google search engine for our main keyword (homemade). This is a hugely competitive word. Plus many other pages on the site rank number one for their particular search phrase. This is free search engine traffic!

On top of this we took the decision of building more websites, the first of which was blenderexpert.com This is a totally product driven site and is converting really well.

It makes nice revenue via Google Adsense and is even better that SavvyHomemade for selling Amazon products....Blenders, juicers and food processors.

As with Savvyhomemade, the traffic is steadily growing each month and after a year with this site traffic is up to almost 1000 visitors per day. We have also achieved number 2 spot in Google rankings for the main keyword (blender reviews). Do a Google search and see for yourself.

Below are the visitor stats for blenderexpert.com. As you can see traffic right now is about the same as SavvyHomemade was at the one year mark last October. For us it's now simply a case of rinse and repeat ;-)

 

Final Thoughts

 

SavvyHomemade.com is the perfect example of how to make your own website and what you can achieve with SBI. Our website is now among the top 1% of trafficked websites on the entire internet and we managed that in under a year with hardly any prior web knowledge or technical skills!

The power of internet has changed what we once thought was hard work. What is usually considered work is doing something for a month, getting your pay check and then you have to work all over again to receive the same.

The inherent problem with this structure is that as soon as you stop doing the work, you stop getting paid. This doesn't happen on the web. You work hard once to make your own website and the pay from that work keeps coming and coming, in the form of passive income...You can work just occasionally but all the work from before keeps sending you the benefits.

This is not one of the get rich quick scams. This is a real way to make your own website, or should we say make your own web business and work towards being financially and physically free whilst doing something you enjoy. Isn't that what we all want?
