Simple Stick and Fabric
One of the best homemade pet toys is crafted using a stick and simple strips of felt fabric.
Simply tie a long strip of felt to a stick or old hanger – anything you can hold on to – and add additional short pieces of felt to the end of the original one to form a colorful burst of felt.
Now simply drag it along the floor or dangle it in the air, and watch your kitty attack it with delight!
Making The Toy Mouse
Another great toy creates the standard mouse that every kitty loves to play with.
First, find an old sock and stuff it with other old socks, standard filling, or other soft materials.
If you want to watch your kitty have an especially great day, add a little bit of catnip to the filling (or any of your homemade cat toys!).
Now tie or stitch the opening of the sock closed, and use a black marker to draw the nose and whiskers, eyes and ears on the mouse.
Your kitty will immediately be intrigued by the stuffed mouse, but will be unable to resist it if you add the catnip.
It’s best to leave the tail off of this mouse, as virtually any material could be pulled off and eaten by your kitty.
