Cute little crayon!
Kyle wanted to be an orange crayon for Halloween this year. I bought some orange and black felt and started creating. I wrapped the orange around him and guessed at the size. Found a wave on the net and adjusted the size for the costume. Cut out a bunch of waves, sewed them together and sewed them on the costume.
I found a combination of fonts on Word for the Crayola. Cut them out of black felt and cut out the oval around the Crayola in black as well. Used some copper pipe insulation around the shoulders for a roundness effect. Cut some arm holes and hemmed the top, bottom and arm hole area.
I put some elastic in the neck area to pull the felt in tighter to his neck. The hat is made of twisted cardstock taped together to form a cone. I put some orange felt around it and sewed it to the cardstock along with some thin cording to hold in on his neck like a party hat.
Wa la, he’s an orange crayon which is his favorite color by the way!
