If the thought of making homemade skin moisturizers sounds like a lot of hard work for a poor quality product you couldn't be more wrong.
In fact it's extremely quick and easy to mix up a simple, therapeutic, totally pure, additive free, non irritant homemade moisturizer with maximum benefits that's been tailored to your very own needs and all at a very low cost, in minutes!
Making your own homemade moisturizer recipe isn't just about getting a quality product at a low price; it enables you to have total control of what goes in it, so you can target those problem areas such as cellulite, stretch marks or rough cracked skin.
Here's how it works; all moisturizers work by sealing the skins surface and trapping the body's natural water within the skins tissue, as oil is far more effective in sealing and moisturizing than water, the more oil your moisturizer contains the better it will work.
Homemade skin moisturizers that have been made with pure essential oils then diluted with the appropriate carrier oil won't contain any hidden water and has to be one of the best body treatments you can use.
All your homemade skin moisturizers should contain 15 drops of essential oil diluted in 12 teaspoons of carrier oil.
Never use more than the suggested quantities, essential oils don't become more effective by using extra, in fact it may even have a negative effect.
Try to make your homemade skin moisturizers in small batches so that they are always fresh, if however you really must make up a large batch, add 1 teaspoon of Wheat Germ Oil or 1 vitamin E capsule to it (unless of course you happen to be using wheat germ oil as your carrier oil) as the wheat germ oil and vitamin E are both natural preservatives.
Choosing the right oils to match your skin type are particularly important as to how quickly the oils are absorbed into the skin, here is a list of the best carrier oils and essential oils to use for different skin types and individual problem areas.
