One of the best ways to save money and go green is to make your own homemade herbal remedies....
Sound hard? It's not really. Many herbal remedies can be made from some simple ingredients you can find in your kitchen. Also, a simple working knowledge of a couple of herbs helps.
How about honey and garlic? Garlic and honey are two very easy to find ingredients with a potent medicinal punch.
OK, so you looked in your cupboards and find that you have those things. Now what? What can we use honey and garlic for?
Well, let's say you have a cold. Everyone gets a cold or flu. We'll take our garlic and our honey and make up a simple...
Garlic Honey For Colds
Remember that honey may contain botulism, so don't give your baby under one year of age this cold remedy.
What you will need:
1 bulb garlic (that's the whole thing, not just a clove) and enough honey to cover.
Follow these easy steps:
1. Crush the garlic and place in microwave or oven safe bowl.
2. Cover with honey and bake or microwave at a low heat just until honey is hot.
3. Let sit for 30 minutes and strain out the garlic.
Your garlic may turn color in the honey, but that's OK, it's still all good.
You can use this honey in a cup of tea or you can use it straight up. Honey is very soothing for sore throats.
Garlic is a potent medicine good for fighting infections and viruses.
