You can create your own amazing homemade facial moisturizer in a matter minutes without using any complicated methods or equipment.
By using essential oils you can make a lovely rich homemade face moisturizer, and with a little know how you can mix several different combinations for different parts of the face and apply them just where they are needed!
And since essential oils are much finer and have a more natural affinity to the skin than commercial creams, they can penetrate the skin so much easier.
If that's not enough to convince you just knowing that all your moisturizers will be completely fresh, without any waste and without the large price tag has to be a big plus.
The best way to apply your homemade facial moisturizer is with a massage; it only takes about 3 minutes and will help the moisturizer to penetrate the skin more quickly. Always use sparingly as too much can often leave your skin looking greasy and a little shinny.
With your fingertips gently smooth the homemade face moisturizer over your face, using upward strokes massage the moisturizer into the neck, cheeks and forehead, and then in circles for around the eyes starting from the inner to the outer corners of the eyes.
All of your facial moisturizers should contain:
5 drops of Essential Oil diluted in 6 teaspoons of Carrier Oil.
Wheat Germ Oil and vitamin E are both natural preservatives and anti-oxidants, so they really do add extra benefits to the moisturizers, so I always add 1 teaspoon of wheat germ oil or 1 vitamin E capsule (unless of course you happen to be using wheat germ oil as your carrier oil).
Never use more than the suggested quantities, essential oils do not become more effective by using extra, in fact it may even have a counter affect.
5 drops of Essential Oil diluted in 1 fl oz / 6 teaspoons (30ml) Carrier Oil.
Plus 1 teaspoon of Wheat Germ Oil or the contents of 1 vitamin E capsule
Always keep your moisturizer in a dark glass bottle to protect the essential oils from waning (clear glass is fine, as long as it's kept in a dark place.) You can usually pick up the small glass dropper bottles at the pharmacy for just a few cents and they are really handy for keeping small amounts of mixed oils in them.

A homemade facial moisturizer can make an excellent gift for someone when placed in a pretty bottle with a ribbon.
Just remember that essential oils do not like the light. So if you are giving this as a gift and using a clear glass bottle, put a label on it to let them know.
With more and more men using a moisturizer, this rich yet not overpowering homemade face moisturizer has been designed especially for men, with a spicy and masculine blend of bay, cedarwood and clary sage essential oils.
The final step in your daily facial routine is to use the homemade moisturizers. This is a high-intensity homemade moisturizer recipe with a wonderful rich and creamy texture, that's suitable for dry and mature skin.
