The easiest way ever of making dumplings is simply to mix some Bisquick or other baking mix and whisk in a little water, just enough to make a thick batter. Then simply drop by spoonfuls into the pot of simmering soup!

This recipe is easy and delicious.
My way of cooking. I cook my chicken till its completely done, then use jiffy baking mix to make the dumpling recipe on the box and drop the dumplings by the spoonful into the hot chicken broth.
I turn the broth down on low, put a lid on it and simmer for 10 minutes. Then I take the lid off and simmer on very low for the last 10 minutes. They all get eaten in one setting! You can leave the chicken in the pot when you make the dumplings or you can take it out first. Its completely up to you!

Home made Dumplings? by: Mel
Hi Angela,
I love Stew and Dumplings, here is my recipe.
- 1 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 3 table spoons of shortening
- 2 tea spoons of baking powder
- 1/2 a tea spoon of salt
- 1 table spoon parsley flakes
- 3/4 cup milk
Mix together the flour, the salt, the parsley and baking powder.
Now cut in your shortening using a pastry-blender and keep going until the mix turns into crumbs.
Next stir in the milk.
Take spoonfull's of the dough and drop them into your meat or veg stew. Make sure you dont just drop them directly into the boiling water as this could splash, drop them onto the meat/vegetables.
Cook this for around ten mins, then cover and leave for another eight minutes.
