You're not even sure if making baby food has a lot of advantages. To set things straight, there are many advantages if you choose to prepare food for your baby on your own.

There are many advantages when choosing to make your own baby food. First of all, it's relatively cheaper for you than the average commercial products you buy in local stores. Brands like Gerber, Heinz, Beech Nut, and Earth's Best tend to be a little too expensive.
Making your own homemade baby food makes things easier for you as well because they can be eaten by older children too.
Some commercially prepared baby foods are added with additional preservatives, artificial flavors, food coloring, extra salt and sugar, and these tend to be a little too much.
Though you can check on the ingredients list on the food labels, there's still no guarantee if the component list is complete. This one thing alone, makes making your own baby food even more advantageous than the grocery products. In this way, you are sure that what you are feeding your baby is entirely healthy.
Here're a few basic homemade baby food recipes for that little person. These are very easy to do as well as being relatively cheaper for you to maintain financially than the average brand name baby food product. This will be a growing list of homemade baby food recipes. Peel the apples, and remove the core. Do this with the pear too. Cut the pear and apples into small pieces of cubes. Mix them with the lemon juice and apple juice (or water). Place the entire mixture in a saucepan. Let it simmer until it gets soft (basically around 20 minutes).
Puree the fruit, or mash it if you like. Mix with the egg yolk until it gets smooth. Bake the entire mixture at around 350 degrees F and wait for around 15 minutes. When you're done, let it cool awhile before serving it.
This one's for the 8-month-old baby. To begin, mix the rolled oats and the half a cup milk together. Boil the mixture and let simmer for around 5 minutes, while occasionally stirring.
Mash the banana and mix with the 1/4 cup of milk. When the oatmeal is done simmering, combine it with the banana mixture. Serve and watch your baby devour it.
Peel the potato (or whichever vegetable you choose). Steam for maybe 10 minutes until you're sure it's soft enough. Press the veggie through a sieve. Mix with the milk. You can choose water as an alternative for the milk. Puree the vegetables with either a food processor or blender.
