Natural Home Teeth Cleaning Recipes

Natural tooth paste and home teeth cleaning recipes are very easy to make and well worth having a go at, even if it's just for a few weeks once in a while to give your system a rest from fluoride.

Although fluoride is very good for the teeth, it strengthens and helps protect the teeth from decay.

Unfortunately, fluoride has an adverse affect on the nervous system, and with rising levels of fluoride being added to our drinking water and tooth pastes, it's not surprising more and more people are now choosing to make their own tooth cleaners.

Tip
In an emergency; you can chew fresh parsley to freshen up your breath.

Below are two teeth cleaning alternatives that I often use for cleaning my teeth at home, and they are just as effective as the toothpaste I have bought from the store.

Salt and Peppermint Natural Tooth Paste

This home teeth cleaning recipe was given to me by a dear friend whose grandmother swore by it. It has a very pleasant taste and contains everything that's needed to combat bacteria, whiten teeth and freshen your breath.

Tooth Paste Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 tablespoon arrowroot
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 10 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 5 drops tea tree oil

Method

  1. Using a pestle and mortar grind the salt and sage together. If you don't have a pestle and mortar you can usually get the same result with a heavy rolling pin and bowl.

  2. Mix together all the dry ingredients add the essential oils and transfer into a sterile jar or pot before storing in the bathroom.

How to use

Moisten your tooth brush and dip it into the tooth cleaning powder. Clean your teeth as usual then rinse with cold water. Use within one month.

Charcoal with Sage Tooth Paste

It may seem strange to be using a home teeth cleaning recipe with black powder, but trust me, when you finally rinse your mouth after cleaning, you will be left with sparkling teeth and very fresh breath.

Tooth Paste Ingredients

  • 1 slice wholemeal bread
  • 2 teaspoons dried sage
  • 2 drops peppermint essential oil

Method

  1. Remove the crusts from the bread, and toast until black.

  2. Break the toast into a pastel and mortar, add the sage and oil and then crush it altogether. As I've mentioned above, if you don't have a pestle and mortar you can usually get the same result with a heavy rolling pin and bowl.

  3. Transfer to a sterile jar, place in the bathroom and use as above and within 1 month.
