Homemade Banana Facial Mask
Fresh fruit contains great natural astringent qualities and it’s a great way to use up any extra bits of fruit you may have.
These fruity face masks are very quick and easy homemade facial masks made from store cupboard ingredients that can be adapted to suit any skin type.
Fruity Face Masks
What you will need for your skin type:
4 tablespoons of heavy cream (for dry or normal skin)
Or
1 egg white (for oily skin)
Choose one of the following:
- 1 apricot
- 3 strawberries
- 1/4 peach or nectarine
- 1 small cube of melon (about 1 inch square)
Method:
- Whip the cream until it’s thick enough to stand up in peeks, or beat the egg until it begins to froth.
- Mash the fruit into a puree (you will need to peel the apricot, peach or nectarine first).
- Mix the fruit with the cream/yogurt.
- Smooth the cream over your face and neck, leave for 20 minutes then rinse off with warm water.
Banana Face Mask
Bananas have a thick and creamy texture and when used in a homemade facial mask, it will enrich your skin and leave it feeling clean, soft and nourished.
All you will need for this face mask is:
- 1/2 a banana
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1 tablespoon of yogurt if you have oily skin or 1 tablespoon of heavy cream for dry to normal skin.
Method:
- Peel and then mash the banana, then mix in the honey, yogurt/cream until nice and smooth.
- Smooth the mixture over your face and neck, leave for 20 minutes then rinse off with warm water.
Note:
Fruit can have a tendency to loose its goodness once it has been peeled or mashed, so you really do have to use these homemade facial masks immediately.
