AVATAR_ANNIE
It started when I saw the Avatar movie at the end of last year... I was hooked, I saw it 5 times in the theater. I kept telling myself that I wanted to be an Avatar & Halloween couldn't come fast enough.
As usual, time flew & I had less than a month to plan my Avatar costume, so I decided to make it. I bought and got blue, white & glow in the dark body paint, materials for "clothes", yellow contact lenses, black hair spray, two shades of metallic blue eyeshadow, and green beads for a necklace. My greatest accessory of all was having my boyfriend dress up as an Avatar with me (it took A LOT of convincing).
We took several hours to make our costumes. We got blue all over our car, house & the party we went to. We mixed the blue and white paint to get different shades of blue for our body. I used two different eye shadows on my face. I braided my hair and sprayed it black. I sewed feathers and leaves onto my skirt.
It took about 5-6 hours total making this costume. In the end, though, it was worth it because we had so much fun dressed up as Avatars & received so many compliments (such as "costume of the year"). That's what made me decide to enter us into a halloween costume contest.
